Will a US Ipod Nano work in Germany

Will a US Ipod Nano work in Germany?
I want to buy my little sister a nice gift for Christmas and she lives in Germany. I thought of an Ipod Nano but I'm not sure if it works with German computers as far as syncing and charging is concerned. Any ideas?

Yes, syncing will work just fine. Charging will work fine too if she always charges the iPod through the USB cable or dock plugged into the computer. The only thing that might be a problem is an external charger. It should take the higher German voltage okay (read the power requirements on the box), but you'd need an adapter for the plugs. If she's living in Germany she may already have the right adapter.

It will work. The computers in Germany are the same and have the same USB interface used by the iPod.

Synching with the computer won't be a problem, but check the voltage on any AC adaptor. Most are autovolt these days and are rated from 100 - 240 VAC. If that's the case she'll need an adaptor to plug it in but those are easy to find in Europe. If it's rated at 110 VAC only then she'll need to buy an AC adaptor over there. They're not too expensive, but it is something to consider.

Yes, they will. The standard is the same as the United States. And Microsoft has an enormous beautiful glass building in central Berlin that serves as its European Headquarters, and is a huge tourist attraction. The only differences are in service. Kabel Deutschland provides broadband to major cities like Berlin but the rest of the nation relies on DSL, usually provided by T-Online. Most things will not need adapters but they are cheap and readily available if you do.
