As a dual US/UK citizen going to work in Germany, is there any benefit to working as an EU citizen vs US visa

As a dual US/UK citizen going to work in Germany, is there any benefit to working as an EU citizen vs US visa?
I have to decide if I want to work as an EU citizen vs getting a work visa as an American. Does anyone know the tax specifics? Thanks!

as a uk citizen there would be no restrictions at all working in germany, not sure about the US side of it
